Rediet Retta, Research Associate

Rediet Retta earned her Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy at the  University of Southern California, and is continuing her studies in the Master of Urban Planning (MUP) program. Born in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, Rediet’s global perspective drives her passion for creating equity on a global scale and empowering communities. Her experiences living in diverse urban landscapes have fueled her dedication to equitable urban development. Rediet is also a Graduate Research Assistant at Neighborhood Data for Social Change, where she utilizes data analysis and strategic research to inform impactful policy solutions. She previously interned for the California State Assembly as a Schaeffer Fellow in Government Service and the Los Angeles Alliance for a New Economy (LAANE), gaining valuable insights into policy-making, community engagement, and economic justice. With a multidisciplinary approach to urban planning and public policy, Rediet is committed to addressing complex challenges through innovative and equity-driven solutions.
